Did I just say, positivity obtained from sleeping? I suppose my positive energy is flowing through my writing. Once you begin thinking positively, this is part of the side effects, you spread positivity and the good vibe to everything,anything and everyone. Keeping up with my month’s goal of being positive in every situation. I call it my February goals.

You might be wondering where am I getting so much energy. Truthfully, my energy comes from something we all do daily, sleeping. Ha! Sleeping, yes. I meant that. Struggling to lose weight everyday and nothing comes from your efforts? Have you had a look at your sleep routine? We often ignore the fact that sleeping is an essential entity in our journey to lose weight. Sleep deprivation leads to an increase in hormonal levels which leads to an increased appetite. This results in an increase in the amount of calories we take in. We all for sure cannot resist the food on the table when our appetite has sky-rocketed. Sleep helps regulate the cholesterol level within our bodies therefore reducing stress and depression within the body. Sleep is said to be the cause of depression while also depression also causes lack of sleep. To ensure the latter does  not happen, we all need to get enough sleep. According to psychologists, they advice the best way to treat depression is actually by getting someone to sleep. Sleep should not be substituted for long working hours during the week and sleeping more during weekends as this does not reduce depression levels.

I had to save this for the last. It is no doubt that sleep boosts our life span. Adequate amount of sleep boosts health and immunity of our body leading to improved health. According to research conducted on a number of twins for over 22 years, it was found that those who slept less than seven hours or eight hours per night had an increased risk of death as compared to the others. Hilarious right! We often run to get life boosters to make us look young and increase our life span whereas we have the medication right with us.
