Being in the middle of a jungle, surrounded by wildlife and the beauty of nature, nothing can struck my mind better than what type of technology can deal with my emails, chats on WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Slack e.t.c? You might be wondering, who the heck* wants a type of technology to deal with all these platforms whereas the thrill is in engaging with the platform to share with others.
Yes, you might think am becoming one of those type of nerds who will hardly connect with the world. Mmmh! What if I am to tell you, I enjoy the thrill and fascination brought about by those platforms? But what of the times am on a vacation, or having my meditation sessions ( they say successful people have moments away from the world where they disconnect with the world to connect with their internal being). I need that technology that will control my engagements.
Luckily, or should I say technology will never cease to amaze me. It always has an answer to my questions And worries. Let’s take a moment to appreciate technology(mmh). It thrills the mind with some rush that cannot really be explained.
The good news is knocking tight at our doorsteps. Remember the Smart Reply that Google had created previously to operate on emails? Where a user could have their email auto-replied to. The smart reply, presented to users three short replies whereby a user selects one reply and continues with their other activities or decides to have additional information along with the short reply.
The technology uses some form of machine learning and artificial intelligence to operate efficiently. The smart reply technology scans through emails and translates reply to natural language using the machine learning technology. The more we use the reply feature, the better the response replies it would generate.
Google is planning to release a new app later on this week that will have the same concept but, this time round the Smart Reply will be able to function across all major chatting platforms. Name it, from Facebook Messenger, Slack, WhatsApp, Twitter, emails, WeChat.
The smart reply is able to figure out the context of the conversation and provide responses according to the conversation. It will have the ability to tell your current location to generate responses based on arrival time when conversing with others. It will also have access to your calendar to check your availability status.
That’s barely the least of it’s capabilities. The new app will have the ability to allow users to turn on the “Do not disturb Mode” when doing very critical activities like when in meetings or driving or in church. Allow me to thank Google for this. It’s upon us especially when driving to allow the app do it’s task as we concentrate on the road to avoid accidents brought about by phone distractions.
The app will also have the ability to detect when one is on some holiday or vacation and they aren’t available. Finally, someone got hold of my thought process. You can relieve me off the mentality of some nerd who doesn’t communicate aha, when I began with I need some type of technology to control my communication channels. The app will recognize the non-availability of the user and it will add an auto-repsonder across all platforms.
The app is currently being tested and is set to be released later on this week with a hint of it being called REPLY.
Share your views, opinions and comments on having an app take care of your responses with short phrases.
