Simple homemade fish fingers is a meal to salivate over. I loved fish fingers from the first time I ate them at Green View restaurant opposite Jamia Mosque. Ever since, I have come to enjoy making them from the comfort of the house and munch without limiting. Several of my friends who have visited me and got to taste my simple homemade fish fingers always want to learn how to make and so I decided to share with the rest of the world a simple way to make them. This is an easy way to make them and favorable for all even those who do not like spices.


I share with you all, how to prepare my simple homemade fish fingers. The best part about it is that they do not require a lot of ingredients to prepare. For the video lovers, I got you. Here is a video on how to prepare simple homemade fish fingers at your home.

  • 2 Pieces of Whole Fish Fillets
  • 1 Cup of Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Beaten Eggs
  • 1 Cup of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp of Ground Black Pepper
  • Salt
  • 3 Cups of Cooking Oil
  • 1 tbsp of Soy Sauce
  1. Pat dry the fish fillet using a kitchen towel to remove any moisture or water.

  2. Cut the fish fillet into finger like shapes. They should be almost the size of your index finger.

  3. Season the cut fish fingers with soy sauce.

  4. Then season the fish fingers also with black pepper and a pinch of salt and mix everything together.

  5. Next Season the beaten egg with salt and mix.

  6. Then begin the coating process by first coating each fish finger with flour and shake off the excess flour.

  7. Then dip it in the egg mixture.

  8. Finally coat each finger with the breadcrumbs. Repeat the same process until all the fish fingers are well coated.

  9. Heat up oil in a cooking pan or a sufuria until the oil is moderately hot. Add in your coated fish fingers one at a time ensuring you do not crowd your pan or sufuria. Fry for about 5 minutes and keep on turning to ensure each side is well cooked.

  10. Once ready, remove and drain excess oil on a kitchen towel then serve and enjoy

Within 30 minutes you will have your simple homemade fish fingers ready to feast on. That is the beauty of fish fingers they do not take long to prepare. To enjoy them you can use this lemon onion mayonnaise sauce as your dipping sauce.

Simple Homemade Fish Fingers Accompaniments

To accompany your fish fingers, you can enjoy them with some french fries (chips) or with a drink like a mango milkshake or with a a basil tomato carrot soup or butternut soup  on those chilly evenings.
