HONEY CINNAMON PORK
Pork has been one of my favorite meat dishes from the first day I tasted it back in primary school. I always remember being told that for pork to be enjoyed it has to be made deliciously, patiently and with love. Haha, That is the secret ingredient when cooking any meal. Today, I was feeling ” meatish” and was craving for some meat. I decided why not enjoy pork for my dinner and I prepared honey cinnamon pork. I served it with rice and an avocado banana smoothie . Here is what I came up with.
- 1/2 kg of Pork
- 5 pieces of Garlic
- A small piece of Ginger
- 1/2 tspn of Black Pepper
- 1 tspn of Paprika
- 2 tbsp of Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp of Cinnamon Powder
- 2 tbsp of Dark Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp of Honey
- A pinch of Salt
- 2 tbsp of Cooking Oil
-
Cut your pork into pieces and set it aside
-
In a separate bowl or sufuria add the meat pieces into it
-
Crush 3 pieces of garlic and the ginger and add it on the pork
-
Add the black pepper, paprika, cumin powder and cinnamon and sprinkle it onto the pork.
-
Add the honey and soy sauce and mix it in with the spices and the pork.
-
Mix everything together with the pork and sprinkle a pinch of salt onto the pork. Leave it to marinate on the counter for 30 minutes. or leave the meat in the fridge to marinate for 2 hours
-
Once the meat is marinated and ready, in a pan, sprinkle the cooking oil in a pan or sufuria and heat it up.
-
Add in the remaining garlic chopped into small pieces and fry them for two minutes
-
Add the marinated pork and fry each side until golden brown and well cooked
-
Allow the pork meat to cook until tender and soft and ready for eating
-
Serve with your favorite carbohydrate and vitamin or drink
What I love most about this meal as I prepared it, is I substituted sugar during marinaThis is one of those meals you can easily cook up on a lazy day and yet have a fulfilling dinner and wake up energized for the next day. You can enjoy it with your family members and engage them in the kitchen as you share with them the recipe. I served mine with rice and an avocado banana smoothie
