EASY BUDGET FRIENDLY MANGO MILKSHAKE
Having a sister who loves milkshakes is an amazing thing. I am yet to meet a person who is in love with milkshakes like her. I love you sis❤. Admittedly, I must say, I fell in love with milkshakes because of her. Previously, I was a die-hard fun of juices but right now, I do crave for more of milkshakes. They are soothing and above all they have that cool taste that helps you especially on hot days.
We are at that time of the year where in Kenya, it’s extremely hot. This is the month of January. All you need during the day is a cold drink to quench your thirst caused by the heat. Unfortunately, January is never kind as such. After spending lots of money during the Christmas period on December, January comes to remind you that you have to pay for overspending. Here in Kenya, we call it Njaanuary, where njaa means hunger.
Getting a good milkshake can become quite a hustle as one goes for about KSH 400. While we are here trying to save that little coin remaining. But that does not have to be the case, you can still enjoy a classy tasty and sweet mango milkshake while saving the coin. This is by making your own milkshake at home. Enough of the talking am sure you are eager to know how to prepare this mango milkshake at home. Let’s get into the kitchen.
- 1 Whole Ripe Mango
- 1/2 a Glass of Whole Milk
- 250ml of Vanilla Ice-Cream
- A Blender
Wash and peel your mango. Make sure you get a juicy one. You could ask for help from someone at the grocery store where you are buying your mangoes from, to assist you in getting a good juicy one.
Cut your mango into two halves then dice the mangoes into small pieces
Add the mangoes into your blender first, then add in your ice-cream and finally your milk. Always remember for the milk, use less milk than the ice-cream. This ensures that the vanilla flavor is not lost.
Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Once done, your milkshake is ready for serving.
In a matter of 3-5 minutes you have your mango milkshake and ready to rock and roll the day. This is something I really love about this milkshake, with only 3 ingredients, you have a perfect drink to carry you through the day especially during the hot season. The other really amazing fact about it, is that, it ensures you cut down on cost. Can you imagine you only spend KSH 160. I bought the mango at Ksh 25, milk at Ksh 50 and Lyons-maid Ice-cream at Ksh 85.
This is a very nutritious and delicious mango milkshake and your kids will also love it. At times, it’s hard to deny them their favorite ice-cream, but guess what? With this in hand, you don’t need to worry about much, they get to enjoy their ice-cream in the drink, and the whole family gets to enjoy without the thought of it being a childish meal. 🤣🤣 That phrase where you say, this is for the kids only, does not have to be there.
