CARDAMON DEEP FRIED OREO BALLS

Spoiler alert! Once you get to tasting this cardamon deep fried Oreo balls, you will end up eating them within minutes. I remember when we were young, some of the specials meals we had were pancakeschapati and samosa’s and whenever they were cooked, we did compete with my sister on who will have that first taste as mom was preparing them. That is what you will experience as you enjoy the cardamon deep fried Oreo balls, a taste of irresistible sweetness.

Now with the kids at home for the long December holiday, you may wonder what to give them other than the normal meals. You don’t have to undergo the stress of worrying what to give your child that will make them excited. You can prepare for them this and they will be all about the house with excitement. I won’t keep you for long as you salivate, let’s dive in and get cooking in the kitchen.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp of Cardamon Powder
  • 3 tbsp of Sugar
  • 1/4 tbsp of Salt
  • 1/2 a Cup of Water
  • 1/2 a Cup of Water Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tbsp of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 a Litre of Cooking Oil
  • 3 Small Packets of Oreo or 1 large Oreo pack
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, add the all purpose flour and add in the cardamon, sugar and salt.

  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together.

  3. Add in the warm water and milk and mix in the dough. 

  4. Mix the flour with the liquids as you knead the dough until it becomes firm.  

  5. Once ready, leave it for sometime covered for about 20 minutes until it becomes soft.

  6. Once the dough is soft, divide it into two parts. On a flat surface roll out each dough one at a time.

  7. Place four Oreo's on the top of the rolled out dough, and cut the rolled out dough into four pieces around the Oreo's.

  8. Place each of the Oreo pieces at the center of each of the four cut pieces. Then fold the dough around the oreo to form a ball like shape.

  9. Do the same for the second piece of the dough until all the balls are formed.

  10. In two separate plates, in one, pour the breadcrumbs in and add the cinnamon and mix it with the breadcrumbs.

  11. On the second plate, break the two eggs into it and beat the eggs

  12. Dip the rolled balls into the eggs then coat them with the breadcrumbs as you set each aside on a separate plate. Do this for all the rolled balls.

  13. In a pan or sufuria, pour in the cooking oil and allow it to heat up.

  14. Once the oil is ready, dip the rolled balls into the oil and fry each side for about 3 minutes on each side until it is well cooked. 

  15. Deep fry all the rolled balls until they are all well cooked.

  16. Once ready, serve them up with a few Oreo biscuits .
