BEEFY SAUSAGE MEATBALLS RECIPE
Beefy sausage meatballs, this is a meal to have at any time of the day. Whether you want it for breakfast, lunch or dinner or as a snack, it works perfectly well. My love for meatballs not only originated from my love for meat but it was enhanced by the time it takes to prepare and the ingredients. I like to call my beefy sausage meatballs recipe a 3 step recipe. Prepare the ingredients and mix in a bowl, form the balls and fry. Just that simple and easy.
Containing very few steps, you are assured of having your beefy sausage meatballs ready within a maximum of only 25 minutes. The beauty of meatballs is that you can enjoy them as a whole family. Whenever, I prepare meatballs am reminded of the times when I was young and we could go to a place called Mesora in Buruburu with a couple of friends just to get meatballs at Ksh 20🤣🤣. Childhood days were the best.
How about I show you how to prepare these simple beefy sausage meatballs that will leave you wanting more. For the video lovers, here is a video to show you how to prepare the meatballs.
- 1 Red Onion
- 2 Beef Sausages
- ½ kg of Beef Minced Meat
- 1 Egg
- ½ Cup of Breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- ¾ tbsp Dried Basil
- ¾ tbsp Dried Thyme
- Dark Soy sauce
- A Pinch of Salt
Begin by first chopping the red onion into very small pieces. Large pieces will make the ball formation difficult.
Then remove the outer skin of the sausage. This will help in enabling you access only the meat part of the sausage.Then mash the sausage meat.
Then next in a bowl, add in your beef minced meat followed with your chopped onions and the mashed sausage meat.
Then add in your spices and salt into the same bowl.
Drizzle in your dark soy sauce over the other ingredients.
Then add in your egg.
Finally add in your breadcrumbs and mix everything together. The mixture should be firm and not wet or sticky. If you find yours sticky add in some little bit more of breadcrumbs.
Then scoop some bit of the mixture and roll into a ball shape. To get the same sized balls, you can use an ice-cream scoop to scoop before rolling to form a ball. Repeat the same until the whole mixture is done.
Next, in a cooking pan, add in the oil and heat it up for 2-3 minutes until moderately hot.
Then add in your meatballs ensuring you do not overcrowd your pan and fry while turning on each side to ensure they are evenly cooked until ready.
Finally remove the meatballs from the pan and drain excess oil on a kitchen towel.
Then serve and enjoy.
